Saturday 14th April – bike **** Felixstowe to Falkenham Church – sunny periods.

Ever since we got back from our travels to France and Spain it’s been chilly and cloudy but it was supposed to be sunny today and getting warmer too:) So shorts on for the first time in the UK, picnic packed we headed off on our bikes. Both Mag and I are not 100% with dodgey shoulders so we didn’t want to go too far so headed to our favourite Falkenham Church for our picnic. We set off going down the hill and along the prom which was a mistake as it was very busy! It was still hazy as we reached The Dip where the beach is nearly level with the prom and the shingle bar in the River Deben is very low. It was nice to get out on the Deben path as it was nice and quiet:) passing a swan on the nest as we neared Kings fleet. Here as usual there were loads of swans, some grazing in the fields while others were flying around to land on the Fleet. On reaching the church a couple were sitting in our seat but luckily, they soon went so we had a nice picnic with a view:) We came back over several footpaths over the fields looking for Hares but didn’t see any:( We finished off through The Grove and home a bit tired, we are a bit out of condition but were out 2hours 30 minutes and had a good time too.
